Be it Fabric, Digital, or Print, My job is to make it Beautiful

Hello! My name is Claire Groppe, and I am a graphic and fashion designer based in the Chicago area. I earned my degree in both areas of design from Dominican University and I am continually looking for ways to explore my craft. I was drawn these two strange majors - fashion and graphic design - through my passions for chastity, modesty, art and meaning. Because of my passions, I have worked hard to develop my design skills through technical design work and an exploration of form and beauty.

I believe that designers have the unique job to make "visible the invisible." It is my task to not only create, but to create something which communicates an idea. Any one can create something which looks nice, but it takes real skill to make something truly breathtaking and thought provoking. Real design challenges the intellect and draws a person into the idea. It provokes the intellect while satisfying the senses. Like a word-smith, designers need to carefully craft each line to spark the imagination of a person while making the idea a reality. Therefore, equipped with this powerful weapon which we call design, I strive to use my ability as a designer to make visible what is invisible to protect and promote the spread of ideas.

To reach that end, I have pushed myself to learn how to function in a variety of design fields. My drive has enabled me to win multiple design awards including an honorable mention in the 2019 Driehaus design awards, the Carole Zucco Design award, and the Stanley Paul Design Scholarship. Whatever the field, I  will pour myself into the work and approach each task with dedication, and attention to detail.

When I am not creating, you can probably find me hanging out with my family, solving puzzles, or volunteering to help women in need.
