In my Graphic Design II class, we were tasked to design the different spreads of the second issue of the school literary magazine “Stella Veritatis.” The theme of the issue we were designing was turbulence.  Each of us were told to submit several works for the cover of the magazine, but only one would be picked. Although my cover design was not picked, I was pleased with how they turned out. My favorite design was the one I hand drew using pastel pencils. I decided to depict a small girl walking into a cloud of turbulence, which was the stories inside the magazine. On the back cover she emerges from the cloud of turbulence a more mature woman. The stories have challenged her and caused her to grow, which was what I thought the literary department was trying to do with this particular issue of the magazine. I ended up designing the table of contents spread of the magazine which I tried to make somewhat modern. I was given the “My Story” by Asma Alneel to illustrate as well. For “My Story” I used some Arabic symbols, like the ones  for hope and trust, to reflect the themes in the story.
