Claire Marie
Brand Identity & Clothing Line

For my honors distinction project, I created a mock modest clothing boutique as this is something I would like to do in the future. During the course of the project, I ended up building out an entire logo identity system for the proposed business complete with clothing tags, garment tags, letterhead, business cards, envelopes, and advertisement catalog. I wanted the brand to be elegant yet simple. I also wanted to tie in the Catholic faith which strongly informed the modest guidelines the business would follow. After much trial and error, I ended up finding inspiration for the logo from my home parish in the forms of a stained glass window and a stylized cross. You can view the entire designed business document here.

In addition to creating a brand for the company, I was tasked with drafting a sample first line of clothing for the Spring/Summer season. We decided that the line would include, six different skirts, blouses, and dresses, staying away from pants because it is more difficult to find modest versions of these items, and a bit easier to find pants which will work. I curated the line so the blouses and skirts would be able to be mixed and matched, thus trying to help maximize the number of outfits for the minimum amount of clothing. In addition, depending on the combination, most items should be able to be worn for every day use, while others were designed specifically to be worn for Sunday worship, and special occasions. To ensure the practicality of the designs, I made up one garment from each line.
