Structured Mystery- A Senior Collection
This collection is inspired by the geometric forms found within architecture and enhanced by the artistry of the feminine mystique. The focus of this collection is not the garments, but on the intrinsic beauty of the women who wear them.

When creating any piece, I start with a few baseline requirements for the design, it must be modest and it needs to work well with the female figure. I strongly believe that the female figure is one of the most beautiful things on

earth, and by working with the body rather than using it as a mere mannequin to display my designs, I will be able to create garments that are interesting, beautiful, and unique. Modesty is the key tool that I use to help promote the female figure in this manner, as immodest clothing tends to objectify a woman rather than personalize her. After those requirements are met, anything is fair game. For this collection I was inspired by UC San Diego’s Geisel Library, as the reverse pyramid structure of the building, with a block-like structure on top, reminded me of an upside down skirt. As I was working with the geometric forms, I decided to soften the forms to give them a more delicate look and thus tie my inspiration back to my design base.
