A Room to Nowhere

Among all the beautiful architecture found in Dominican University one piece of architecture stands out. On the second floor of Lewis Hall, on the opposite end of the Brennan School of Business, there is a window. At first glance, there does not seem to be anything unusual about this window, it even holds a statue of the Madonna and Child on its sill. However, when you look closer, the window opens into a small room.

On closer inspection, there is another window opposite it opening to the outside. The window in the hallway is curtained, and there is a small light fixture in the middle of the room. When you look to the right and left inside the room, there seems no apparent way to get in. On the left there is a white plaster wall inhibiting entrance.

To the right there is what seems to be a paneled wood door, a possible entrance into the room. However, the nearest office to this window does not have a door on the corresponding side which would lead to this room.

All in all, this room seems to be inaccessible, a very poor design if you ask me. It could be used for a small storage room, a private study room, or a small office. Instead this room to nowhere on the second floor of Lewis hall confounds those who are curious enough to look.
